Government proposes suspension of activity for companies not respecting Covid-19 prevention measures
Companies that do not respect the measures in force for preventing Covid-19 will risk, in addition to a fine, the complementary contraventional sanction of closure for a duration of 15 or 30 days of the main or secondary headquarters where they carry out their activity.
The Government has drafted and will adopt a bill with these provisions this week, but the project must then be adopted by Parliament and promulgated by the head of state to enter into force.
The Minister of Internal Affairs, Lucian Bode, specified that the announcement regarding the suspension of activity will be made in a visible place at the entrance. The announcement will state that the space is temporarily closed due to non-compliance with the measures ordered to diminish the effects of the covid-19 pandemic, with the express mention of the date until which this sanction is valid. Non-compliance with the first complementary contraventional sanction will materialize through the application of seals or other distinctive signs. Breaking or removing these seals will be sanctioned according to the Penal Code.
