The President of SKÅL International Bucharest, Florin Tancu, and the President of SKÅL International Rome, Luigi Schiarra, signed on Saturday, July 3, 2021, in Bucharest, the twinning certificate between the two associations.
The signing ceremony took place at the Grand Hotel Continental in the presence of members from both clubs and former SKÅL presidents. We were honored to have with us His Excellency, Mr. Arthur Mattli, the Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation to Bucharest, and Dr. Peter Agripa – Rotary International, supporters of Romanian tourism.
During the traditional toast dedicated to the event, the two presidents
noted common points linking the tourism sectors of the two countries, starting from art, culture, architecture, and human values.
Florin Tancu, President of SKÅL International Bucharest, mentioned that this event inaugurates the return of the hospitality industry to normalcy in Bucharest, being the first unrestricted event for our club. Furthermore, the connection between the SKÅL International Rome club and the SKÅL International Bucharest club is a natural one, thanks on one hand to common roots, and on the other hand to both clubs being founders of the SKÅL International Europe chapter.
The President of SKÅL International Rome, Luigi Schiarra, referred to the community of approximately 4 million Romanians living in Italy and expressed being deeply impressed by our country’s tourism potential.
The ceremony concluded with the sharing of the same vision in the spirit of recovery and promotion of the tourism industry between the two countries.
Skål International Bucharest is an organization that brings together all sectors of the tourism industry: hotels, tour operators, airlines, event organizers, and related hospitality services. The SKÅL Romania club currently has 58 members (of which 14 are founding members).
The spirit of SKÅL International Romania encourages the development of personal and interpersonal relationships between SKÅL members in Romania and SKÅL International members. SKÅL International is an organization that encourages progress and evolution through affiliation with other international organizations in the tourism industry, such as the World Tourism Organization, and dates back to 1932.
