MIPE to Allocate 20 Million Euros for the Financing of Four Cultural and Tourist Routes

The Ministry of Investments and European Projects (MIPE) and local authorities signed financing contracts on October 24 for four additional tourist and cultural routes under the “Attractive Romania” program.

The total value of the contracts concluded for the route of fortified manors (cule), the route of manor houses (curii), the route of traditional villages, and the Danube Delta route exceeds €20 million. This amount will be invested through Component 11 – Tourism and Culture of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), MIPE announced.

The route of villages with traditional architecture is funded with €9.78 million. Support will be provided to Saschiz commune in Mureș county, Biertan commune in Sibiu county, Arpașu de Jos commune in Sibiu county, Ciucsângeorgiu commune in Harghita county, and Roșia Montană commune in Alba county, according to the cited source.

The route of manor houses (curii) will be funded with €7.88 million. The route will include the most representative manor houses in Transylvania, including the restoration of five manors in Covasna, Harghita, Satu Mare, Bihor, and Cluj counties.

The route of fortified manors (cule) will be funded with €2.48 million. Financing contracts were signed for the restoration of two fortified manors to be included in the dedicated route: the Tudor Vladimirescu Manor in Mehedinți county and the Glogoveanu Manor in Gorj county.

The Danube Delta route will be funded with €0.57 million. Thirty cultural landscape sites will be restored and included in a tourist trail, along with sites in the localities of Chilia Veche and Periprava.

Additionally, financing contracts worth €68.5 million were signed for investments in sites included in six cultural and tourist routes of the “Attractive Romania” Program: the route of Roman forts (castra), the route of castles, the route of fortresses, the Saint Ladislaus route, the route of wooden churches, and the route of monasteries in the Moldavia region.
