First Flight from Brașov-Ghimbav Airport Scheduled for Mid-December
The management of Brașov-Ghimbav Airport has announced that the final details for the implementation of air navigation services at Brașov Airport are being finalized by the end of the year.
The design of the airspace and instrumental flight procedures has been completed, and the documentation regarding conventional satellite procedures—based on which traffic controllers from Arad will sequence flights in time and space and assist pilots during takeoff and landing procedures on the Ghimbav runway—has been submitted to the Aeronautical Authority and is currently in the verification stage.
The consolidated schedule of activities regarding the operationalization of Brașov-Ghimbav International Airport, agreed upon by the Brașov County Council together with ROMATSA and the Romanian Civil Aeronautical Authority, stipulated that this objective would be operational by mid-June 2023.
