Online travel agency Vola.ro has launched AI Deal Finder, a conversational artificial intelligence tool available exclusively in the GoVola mobile app. This launch marks a first for the travel industry in Romania, being the first time a booking platform integrates a native AI system directly connected to its own database and real-time updated flight inventory, transforming the search process from a technical filter-based procedure into a natural conversation.
Unlike generalist language models such as ChatGPT or Gemini, the solution implemented by Vola.ro differentiates itself by providing access to concrete flight prices and availability, customized for the Central and Eastern European market, thus eliminating the risk of suggestions based on estimates or historical data. The AI Deal Finder has the ability to handle complex requests, from identifying the cheapest options for specific time periods or destination types, to configuring detailed itineraries, such as flights with specific stopovers or flights subject to strict timetables. According to company representatives, the tool is already being used by thousands of users, with data showing a doubling of the success rate in finding the right flight and a halving of the time needed to document and book. Matei Psatta, Vola.ro representative, said the technology shortens the decision-making process and offers contextual recommendations on seasonality and local events in addition to fares.
