The Government approved today an additional investment of over EUR 41.2 million (210 million lei) for the development of the country’s localities, earmarked for the implementation of 293 new projects included in the Single Program Document for 2025-2027. The measure aims to support sustainable development, efficient organization of the territory and improve citizens’ access to public services and social infrastructure.
Of the total amount of investment, about EUR 40.8 million (208 million lei) is provided from the National Fund for Regional and Local Development, while the remaining about EUR 450 thousand (2.3 million lei) is the contribution of local public administration authorities. Angela Țurcanu, secretary-general of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development, said that the implementation of these projects will contribute to increasing the quality of life and ensuring spatial organization. Specifically, the 293 localities will benefit from new, updated or modernized General Urban Plans.
Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu described the initiative as an essential part of the Executive’s program of activity, with a major impact on communities. The projects were selected through competitions organized by the ministry and are integrated into the Single Program Document, the medium-term planning act for the National Strategy for Regional Development. The document for 2025-2027 includes, in addition to the new additions, 627 regional development projects, 1,478 local development projects and 32 projects for urgent interventions in social-cultural buildings.
