Tourism employer associations have submitted a series of requests to the government to support hotel and restaurant activities, which have been severely affected by the pandemic.
The main objective—decoupling the operation of HoReCa units from the incidence of COVID-19 cases—has been achieved, but there are other measures supported in a manifesto-type document, explained Corina Martin, Vice President of the Federation of Employer Associations in the Hospitality Industry.
“We are putting firm requests on the government’s table: our demand for the real activation of technical unemployment, and we are requesting a cap on taxes for salaries up to 3,100 RON, so that we can retain the staff we have struggled to attract to our industry. Regarding terraces, we practically want access for individuals who can prove through a test—either a rapid test or a PCR test—that they are not COVID-19 carriers at this moment,” stated Corina Martin.
The Federation of Employer Associations in the Hospitality Industry brings together industry associations from the counties of Brașov, Timișoara, Bacău, Cluj, Craiova, Argeș, Neamț, and Constanța.
