Therme wellness and relaxation center, one of the largest in Europe, is expanding with a new complex featuring a maximum capacity of 2,232 simultaneous visitors, an increase of over 50% compared to the existing complex in Balotesti.
The new complex, dedicated to body maintenance activities, is being built on a portion of the current Therme Bucharest parking lot and will have a separate entrance.
Therme’s shareholders, the Austrian group A-Heat, estimate the investment value at this stage of the project at approximately €1,300/sqm, totaling €28 million.
The new complex will have a built area of approximately 18,000 sqm and will be erected on a 37,217 sqm plot currently used as a parking lot. The construction requires 939 parking spaces, and the existing Therme Bucharest parking will be utilized.
The new complex will allow simultaneous access for 2,000 clients and 232 employees. The new facility will include various types of saunas, massage rooms, and special treatment rooms, all grouped into 4 zones with different themes: Russian Banya, Water Temple, Hammam, and Onsen. There will also be a fish aquarium, mineral pools, a vitamin bar, and a 300-seat restaurant.
The expected implementation period for the project is 2 years from the receipt of the building permit.
To date, eight expansions have been completed within the complex: a 4,000 sqm building – Galaxy Relax, the largest urban beach in Europe – Sands of Therme, covering 30,000 sqm, two thematic parks spanning 10,000 sqm with 20,000 plants (Feng Shui and Pangeea, unique in Europe), and a concept restaurant featuring 12 live cooking stations and 5 culinary influence zones.
