The Palace Hotel, which has not been refurbished since 2009, will be modernized. Constanta City Hall has issued the urban planning certificate to modify the existing building through interior reorganization. It was also requested to set up a wellness and SPA center, a restaurant, to close the terrace on the first floor for a conference room, to create another terrace with circulation and to reconfigure the existing spaces for public catering. The City Hall of Constanța issued, in April 2024, the building permit for intervention works at the historical monument Hotel Palace in the Peninsular Area. Thus, Building Permit No. 373 concerns intervention works to make safe the building on Remus Opreanu Street No. 5- 5 – 7. The document is valid for two years. The building is still for sale and the price is still only available on request on a specialized website. The building has 99 rooms and a constructed area of 7,450 square meters. It has five and six storeys respectively on the sea front and is built in an eclectic style typical of the French Riviera. The Palace Hotel was built in particular to accommodate gambling lovers who stopped at the Casino, the symbol of Constanta.
