Manelli Impresa (Italy) has won the tender for the expansion works of the Constanța Dolphinarium, with the contract awarded for 17.64 million RON, excluding VAT, from an initial estimate of 19.1 million RON, excluding VAT. The works are scheduled for completion in 2 years.
The general objective of the project is to capitalize on tourism elements by expanding and equipping the infrastructure of the Dolphinarium within the Constanța Museum Complex of Natural Sciences to European standards. Specifically, expansion works will be carried out on the existing pool by adding a new 3,094 cubic meter pool.
Additionally, works will be executed to create an area that can be uncovered during the favorable season (approximately 8 months/year), as well as the installation of an acrylic glazed surface to increase interaction activities with the dolphins.
The project will be funded through the Program for the Development of Tourism Investments – the Tourism Investment Masterplan and the eligibility criteria for tourism investment projects, approved by HG 558/2017. The financing contract was signed in the first part of August 2019.
