The Mareea travel agency estimates that this summer, the number of foreigners arriving at all-inclusive hotels on the Romanian coast will double, exceeding 10,000 people. The main countries of origin for these tourists are Germany, Poland, and Israel.
According to an analysis conducted by Mareea, in 2014, approximately 5,000 foreign tourists were registered in all-inclusive hotels on the Romanian coast, out of a total of 31,000 foreign tourists.
The owner of the Mareea travel agency, Marius Usturoiu, who also manages the Family Club Mercur-Minerva all-inclusive complex in Mamaia, stated that foreign tourists generally look for traditional food at Romanian all-inclusives, while Romanians are attracted to meat, especially grilled dishes.
Usturoiu also says that during the peak season, the majority of foreigners coming for all-inclusive stays are families with children.
In general, a foreigner pays 500-600 EUR for an all-inclusive holiday in Romania at a 3-star hotel, a price that also includes the plane ticket.
Last year, 6,750 places were available in all-inclusive structures on the Romanian coast, and this year the number of places has increased by 581.
