THE OPPORTUNITY:

Cernica Events is one of the most spectacular event destinations in the Bucharest-Ilfov area, operating 11 distinct venues by the lake and in the forest. We simultaneously host 10-15 premium events (weddings, christenings, galas, and corporate events).

To maintain these volumes at the highest culinary standards, we are looking for an Executive Chef with solid experience in the Banqueting sector. We are not just looking for a culinary artist, but an exceptional organizational leader capable of directing high-volume production without compromising the quality and presentation of the dishes.

You will work closely with the Operations Manager to optimize costs and lead a vast team to ensure excellence in every plate that leaves the kitchen pass.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leadership and Coordination: Leading, coordinating, and professionally supervising all kitchen staff. According to our organizational chart, you will directly coordinate Station Chefs, Sous Chefs, kitchen assistants, and the Stewarding department (Cleaning/Dishwashing).
  • Volume Management (Banqueting): Organizing the technological flow to simultaneously serve multiple events with hundreds of guests, ensuring perfect synchronization of dish delivery (hot/cold) with the ballroom schedules.
  • Standardization and Cost Control: Compiling and updating recipes, ensuring the maintenance of an optimal Food Cost. You will collaborate with the Purchasing/Inventory department to monitor stock levels and reduce waste.
  • Safety and Quality (HACCP): Implementing and strictly adhering to hygiene standards, controlling cooking temperatures, and food safety standards specific to large-scale events.

IDEAL PROFILE:

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in a Head Chef / Executive Chef position, mandatory in a large event complex, 4/5-star hotel (banqueting division), or high-volume catering.
  • Operational Skills: Proven ability to manage stocks, create precise recipes, and work with budgets (price calculations for meal production).
  • Leadership: A firm but fair management style, oriented towards team training, motivation, and retention.
  • Stress Resistance: The ability to make quick and effective decisions during peak production times (Saturdays/Sundays).
