Niro Investment Company has brought the 5-star Swissotel hotel brand to Romania through a management contract signed with Accor, which will operate the hotel whose inauguration is scheduled for 2021.
The unit will be located between the National University of Political Studies and Public Administration (SNSPA) and Romexpo, right on Expozitiei Boulevard, and will be 85 m high.
The investment is estimated at EUR 60 million and will have a total built area of approximately 30,000 sqm, with 27 levels, including 3 underground.
Zsolt Nagy, CEO of Niro Investment Group, stated that the return on investment is expected to be achieved in 12 to 14 years. Swissotel will have the largest event facility, a SPA on an entire floor, with a 25 m long swimming pool offering a panoramic view of Bucharest. There will also be a restaurant on the hotel terrace with a retractable roof, Nagy specified.
The hotel will have 225 rooms distributed over 18 floors and will feature the largest conference area on the market, for 455 people.
In the next 2 years, Accor will open 20 new hotels in Romania, 12 of which will be in Bucharest.
In 2019, the room supply will increase by 1,500 units with the inauguration of four major hotels, including new brands: Indigo (brought by Intercontinental), Courtyard (by Marriott), Autograph (by Marriott), and Corinthia Hotels International, a brand also brought to the market by Niro Investment.
