The National Authority for Tourism, ANT, will designate new ambassadors for Romanian tourism in December this year, one of whom will be designer Cătălin Botezatu, stated ANT President Anca Pavel Nedea.
„Romania has extraordinary potential; let’s not forget that this year it is the winner of an international Lonely Planet award, ranking 1st in the recommendations of this major forum, a recommendation concerning the Transylvania region. Here, for the first time, Romania is in a top recommendation for people all over the globe. I believe we must take advantage of this. We would also need a ministry dedicated solely to tourism. Through tourism, many doors are opened; tourism represents a way to bring new investors to Romania," declared Cătălin Botezatu.
He claims he has already been an ambassador for Romania unintentionally and compares the Romanian seaside to Ibiza and Saint Tropez.
The ANT President and Cătălin Botezatu participated on November 12 in the opening of the Romanian Tourism Fair, autumn edition, at Romexpo.
Through a program launched in 2013, over 20 people have received the title of Romanian tourism ambassadors and diplomatic passports to date.
