The owners of the Radisson and Park Inn hotels in Bucharest are negotiating with four investment funds for the sale of the units for 180 million EUR, with the transaction expected to be signed, in an optimistic scenario, at the end of this summer, tourism market sources stated.
If the two hotels are sold for the requested amount, it will be the largest transaction in the history of Romanian tourism.
In the early 2000s, the former Bucharest Hotel was purchased by the Israeli group Elbit Medical Imaging, owned by Europe Israel Ltd.
After an investment of 70 million EUR, the hotel was opened in 2003 under the Radisson brand.
In the other wing of the former Bucharest Hotel, the Israelis opened an aparthotel, Centre Ville, with 294 rooms, which they transformed in 2015, with an investment of 7 million EUR, into a 4-star Park Inn with 240 rooms.
Radisson representatives could not be contacted by the time of the news transmission.
