MAT Resumes Participation in International Tourism Fairs

The Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Tourism (MAT) has announced the resumption of participation in international tourism fairs. The theme for the 2022 tourism fairs, selected by MAT and representatives of the National Tourism Brand Council (CBTN), is “Feel Alive,” a concept that supports the development of the national tourism brand “Explore the Carpathian Garden.”

In the period of November 7-9, 2022, together with over 30 representatives of professional associations and local authorities, MAT represented Romania at the WTM London tourism fair, organized in a Business-to-Business (B2B) format. Among the actions organized at Romania’s stand or within WTM, there was a presentation of Romania as a tourist destination by the largest tour operators present at the fair, an artistic performance by Subcarpați, and the “Crafting Influencers-Women Edition” debate, alongside six entrepreneurs from the Romanian diaspora.

Romania’s stand was adjacent to those of Hungary, the Czech Republic, Montenegro, Azerbaijan, Poland, the Netherlands, and Switzerland.

Within Romania’s stand at the WTM London tourism fair, representatives from several professional associations and local public authorities participated:

  • National Association of Travel Agencies;
  • Association of Ecotourism in Romania;
  • Suceava County Council;
  • Incoming Romania Association;
  • Association for the Promotion and Development of Tourism Prahova;
