The 4-star Best Western Plus Expocenter hotel, purchased by businessman George Padure and officially opened in October 2015, has been put up for sale on the foreclosure website by Libra Internet Bank for the amount of EUR 6.9 million.
Businessman George Padure purchased the hotel unit in 2014 from BCR and borrowed from the bank to modernize it with EUR 1.5 million, after which he tried to sell it or at least find a specialized company to operate it.
The former Diplomat hotel near Romexpo had been taken over by BCR in exchange for debts after the owner died many years ago.
The Expo Center hotel, which George Padure affiliated with the international Best Western chain, has 88 rooms, including 15 suites, plus a penthouse with a sauna and jacuzzi, two restaurants, two terraces, and five conference rooms.
