Dutch airline Join Airlines has announced that it will enter the Romanian market with four flights operated from Arad, three of which are on international routes, while three aircraft have been allocated to domestic routes, with the expansion of activity also targeting the airports in Suceava and Tulcea
The president of Join Airlines, Bernard Jacobs, stated that two of the routes have been definitively established, namely Arad – Stuttgart and Arad – Verona, and for the domestic flight, the Arad – Bucharest route is being considered.
Bernard Jacobs specified that Join Airlines is not a low-cost company, but „the price of tickets for the routes from Arad will be attractive”.
Arad International Airport has not had passenger flights since last spring, when Wizz Air withdrew, the company having operated until then on the Arad – Milan (Bergamo) route. At the same time, since autumn, the cargo operator DHL also withdrew from the local airport, where there are now only occasional charter flights and flights from an aviation school.
