The owner of the low-cost airline Blue Air is preparing the launch of a new airline in Romania, Hello Jets.
Teodor Cristian Rada founded the company in February of this year and has obtained authorization from the AACR (Romanian Civil Aeronautical Authority).
The main object of activity of the firm is passenger air transport, and recently a Blue Air aircraft was transferred to the fleet of the new firm founded by Rada. The aircraft leased to Hello Jets is a Boeing 737-500, over 31 years old, with a 126-seat configuration, which entered the Blue Air fleet in 2009.
Hello Jets needed the aircraft both to satisfy the certification requirements as an air transport operator and to begin testing the new concept.
“According to the agreement with Hello Jets, this company will have a business model oriented towards long-haul distances and, implicitly, a fleet of aircraft and destinations totally different from those of Blue Air,” stated Oana Petrescu.
Blue Air is set to list on the London Stock Exchange through a process called a reverse takeover, which is faster than a classic listing. The company hopes to attract 250 million EUR through the stock exchange listing, money that will be used to replace and expand the fleet from 15 aircraft to 50 Boeing 737 MAX models.
99.99% of the share capital of Blue Air Aviation SA is owned by Airline Invest SA, owned by Teodor-Cristian Rada, and the rest by his brother, Mihai Catalin Rada.
