The Eturia travel agency estimates that at least 10,000 Romanians will spend their winter holidays in exotic locations, paying an average of between 1,500 and 3,000 EUR. Most requests were recorded for trips to Cuba, the Maldives, the Dominican Republic, Thailand, and Mexico.
„To date, over 40% of the available spots in Eturia’s portfolio for the holiday season have already been paid for. Eturia has reserved 3,000 spots worldwide for Romanians’ winter vacations, including airline tickets purchased in advance, this season being the most important in terms of sales," a company press release states.
Requests for winter stays have recorded a 15% increase so far compared to last year.
The most expensive holiday sold to date for New Year’s Eve 2015 was a two-week circuit in Argentina and Brazil for a couple, valued at 25,000 EUR, with business class flights.
