€5,000 for Tulcea Residents Setting Up Guest Rooms for Tourists

Residents from 16 communities in northern Tulcea county can receive €5,000 each for setting up one of the rooms in their own home to be rented to tourists, which must be accompanied by a dining area and a bathroom.
The European subsidy is allocated by the Local Action Group (GAL) Muntii Macinului-Dunarea Veche, and so far, funds have been allocated for the arrangement of seven such rooms, according to GAL manager Ana Maria Cazacu.
The objective of GAL Muntii Macinului-Dunarea Veche is for 85% of the €2.3 million budget to be contracted by locals by the end of this year.
Financing contracts have already been signed for 27 of the 33 requests, and their value is approximately 60% of the budget allocated for financing projects submitted by locals.
GAL Muntii Macinului – Dunarea Veche is a public-private partnership, established in August 2016, based on GEO no. 26/2000 and authorized by the Ministry of Agriculture to carry out activities specific to the implementation of the Local Development Strategy for the Muntii Macinului – Dunarea Veche territory, within Measure 19 Leader of the National Rural Development Program 2014 – 2020.
Through the Local Development Strategy of GAL Muntii Macinului-Dunarea Veche, the group’s management attracted €2,884,209.31 in European funding, of which €2,307,368.31 represents the amount allocated for project financing through 10 measures. The amount can be accessed by authorities, farmers, non-governmental associations, and small and medium-sized private enterprises from 16 administrative-territorial units in Tulcea county, which do not have access to the €1.1 billion sum allocated through the Integrated Territorial Investment – Danube Delta financial mechanism.
