Recently, several organizations and associations, alongside local authorities and local investors from Tara Fagarasului, have decided to promote this region much more effectively and to boost the development of infrastructure in the area.
In this regard, the project “Initialization of tourist routes in the territory of LAG (Local Action Group) Eastern Tara Fagarasului, establishing thematic, car, pedestrian, equestrian, and cycling routes, informing tourists, and promoting the tourist potential of the area in the communes: Mandra, Harseni, Sercaia, Parau, Comana, Sinca Noua, Holbav” was launched.
Association agreements were thus concluded with the administrative-territorial units in the targeted area for placing mobile information boards on public property, placing tourist information on specially designed boards within town halls (on their notice boards), placing tourist information through boards, maps, and printed materials within the tourist information centers of the communes, and promoting the identified car, pedestrian, equestrian, and cycling routes through a mobile application and website.
The route initialization project is carried out by the PROCULT Margineni Association, being funded by LAG Eastern Tara Fagarasului and AFIR – the Agency for Financing Rural Investments – in partnership with the 7 communes.
The project includes, among others:
– Placing mobile information boards on public property.
– Promoting car, pedestrian, equestrian, and cycling routes via a mobile application and website.
– Identifying tourist routes in the LAG Eastern Tara Fagarasului territory and monitoring them through an Android/iOS mobile application.
– Identifying tourist attractions and digitizing them through QR codes with direct links to the corresponding position on the project website. Accessing the QR codes will instantly provide geographic orientation, location, routes, and tourist attractions in that area, as well as general information, historical data, nature, and protected areas.
– Creating a smartphone application (iOS and Android) that will be active after download even without an internet connection.
– Creating an interactive website interconnected with the mobile application for informal-educational purposes and regional promotion.
– Promoting existing tourist routes and attractions in LAG Eastern Tara Fagarasului through promotional materials edited within the project.
The entire promotion project is carried out under the slogan “Tara Fagarasului – In the heart of Romania, in your heart!”
