According to a study, Romanian tourists are willing to pay more for dining out during vacations

73% of Romanian travelers are willing to pay more for dining out during a vacation, compared to going out in their hometown.
The tendency to spend more on food and drinks is not as reflected in the residents of other countries who responded to the survey: only 52% of Danes, Finns, or Russians would be willing to spend more money in restaurants in the cities they travel to.
Those who come closest to the habits of Romanians in this regard are respondents from Colombia or Mexico, each with a result of 70%.
Travelers want more from their vacation than just relaxing in one place without doing anything.
Most respondents want to find good restaurants near the hotel where they are staying, but 41% look for attractive places where they can serve lunch or dinner outdoors.
A quarter of the study participants spend between 81 and 120 RON/person on a menu during vacation, and another 15% stated that they usually pay between 161 and 320 RON/person for a menu.
The studied prices show that in Romania, the average cost of a three-course menu in a mid-range restaurant for one person is 50 RON (57th place out of 86 analyzed countries).
The study was conducted on data collected in January 2019 through an online survey among 23,400 people from 22 countries, including 1,006 Romanians aged between 18 and 65.
