Wizz Air: 16% Revenue Growth in Fiscal Year 2016

Low-cost airline Wizz Air recorded a 16% increase in revenue for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2016, reaching EUR 1.43 billion. At the same time, net profit grew by 5% to EUR 193 million. 
The company also recorded a loss of EUR 31 million from unrealized foreign exchange losses and exceptional items. 
The number of passengers saw a 21% increase, reaching 20 million passengers.
Ticket sales increased by 13% to EUR 895 million, while ancillary revenues grew by 23% to EUR 534 million.
In the fiscal year ending March 2016, Wizz Air launched 69 new routes and opened three new bases in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovakia, and Lublin. During the past year, the company announced three new bases, two of which are in Romania, in Iasi and Sibiu, as well as in Kutaisi, Georgia.
