Wizz Air: 16% increase in the number of passengers transported to and from Romania

The low-cost airline Wizz Air recorded a growth of approximately 16% in passengers transported in Romania in 2015, reaching 4.5 million people, compared to 2014 when it transported 3.9 million passengers to and from Romania. At the same time, the company expanded its number of routes and added new aircraft to its bases in the country to meet growing demand.
The newest Wizz Air routes announced or which began operations in 2015 include Bucharest – Glasgow, Birmingham, and Hamburg; from Cluj-Napoca to Dubai, Munich-Memmingen, Alicante, Billund, Doncaster/Sheffield, and a completely new destination, Berlin. 
The newest routes from Iasi are to Bologna, Larnaca, Rome, and Tel Aviv.
In March, Wizz Air added a new flight on the Constanta – London Luton route.
A new route from Targu Mures to Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden was announced in November, adding to the new routes to Dortmund, Frankfurt Hahn, and Munich-Memmingen.
Currently, Wizz Air offers 107 routes to 16 countries from 8 airports in Romania.
In 2015, across the entire network, Wizz Air recorded an increase of approximately 22% in the number of passengers transported, from 15.8 million in 2014 to 19.2 million in 2015.
New services introduced in 2015 include allocated seating, improved priority boarding service, which now offers the possibility of a small extra hand bag, and a new Plus Fare category that benefits from a 32 kg checked bag, a large cabin bag, priority boarding, and airport check-in.
