Via Transilvanica Trail Now Available on Google Street View

A large part of Via Transilvanica, the hiking trail spanning over 1,400 km between Putna and Drobeta-Turnu Severin, is now available in panoramic Street View images on Google Maps.

Nearly 900 km of the trail can be explored digitally.

The trail, officially launched in October last year, passes through approximately 400 localities across the country and can be traversed on foot, by bicycle, or on horseback.

The 1,400 km Via Transilvanica starts in Bucovina, at Putna, crosses Transylvania, and ends on the banks of the Danube, at Drobeta Turnu Severin. Two-thirds of it are photographed and accessible in Google Street View, following a process that took approximately four weeks.

Via Transilvanica is a project of the Tășuleasa Social Association and represents a long-distance trail, a concept known and encountered worldwide.
