At the beginning of June, Turkey awaits its tourists and is preparing a series of measures for their protection.
Tourists arriving by plane will be tested for COVID at the airport, transferred to hotels in smaller vehicles, and room access will be via codes downloaded to mobile phones. Even though the all-inclusive system will remain, guests will sit at tables and order everything they wish to eat and drink from waiters, stated Erdinc Adali, the commercial director of the largest tour operator in Romania, which brings the most Romanian tourists to Turkey.
“Mandatory 14-day quarantine” will not be practiced upon entry into Turkey for any nationality.
From the airport, once inside Turkey, the screening will begin. In the passport control area, tourists will pass through a station that will disinfect them and where a rapid test will be conducted to detect potential coronavirus cases, says Erdinc Adali.
“We do not yet know if this test will be for a fee or free, but it will only take a few minutes. If a tourist tests positive, they can return to their country on the plane they arrived with, without entering quarantine in Turkey,” the director specified.
At the beach, the distance between sunbeds will be at least 1.5 m, and antivirus solutions will be used for swimming pools. Luggage and rooms will be disinfected, and hotels will not operate at full capacity. Rooms occupied by tourists will remain empty for at least 48 hours after they depart. While hotel staff underwent training every year, pandemic preparation will now be added, where they will be taught how to avoid viral infection and how to act under certain conditions.
