Transformation of the Former BCR Brașov Headquarters into a Hotel, Under Review by APM Brașov

After several years of attempts to transform the former BCR headquarters on 15 Noiembrie Boulevard in Brașov into a hotel, which failed to progress past the bureaucratic stage, the investment file is currently under review by the Brașov Environmental Protection Agency (APM), which is set to issue a screening decision.

According to the documentation submitted to APM Brașov, the hotel to be developed within the former BCR headquarters will feature 142 rooms and 109 parking spaces, including 38 in the basement. The hotel will also include a SPA center, a casino, a conference hall, and catering spaces.

Furthermore, to accommodate the construction of the swimming pool, the annex attached to the main building will be heightened. The new hotel will be a 4-star establishment.

The BCR headquarters was initially listed for sale at EUR 8.4 million, after which the price was reduced to EUR 7.5 million. BCR has not yet disclosed the final sale price of the Brașov headquarters, but the purchasing company’s debts increased by RON 20 million during the preceding period.
