Last week, the national airline Tarom announced the composition of its Board of Directors, which includes Christian Heinzmann, the airline’s CEO, Valentin Iordache, communications director of Bucharest Airports, and Marcel Bolos, former head of AM POST. The other directors are Dan Aurel Machita, Dragos Andrei, Tiberiu Ticlea, and Radu Francis Florescu.
The new composition of the Tarom Board of Directors was approved on March 23 by the General Meeting of Shareholders (AGA).
Former Tarom directors, who held interim positions, resigned in early March after the Ministry of Transport, the company’s owner, established the composition of the future Board of Directors.
The Minister of Transport stated at the end of November that Tarom reported positive results in 2014, but does not benefit from the most successful management, some unions are in opposition, and restructuring the company will be necessary.
Last year, Tarom recorded losses of 119 million RON, down 8% compared to 2013, and for 2015 it estimates a negative result of 8 million RON, according to information sent to ZF by the Ministry of Transport.
