The rules regarding the schooling and certification of tourist guides have been modified through an Order signed by the Minister of Economy, Entrepreneurship, and Tourism, Ștefan-Radu Oprea. The document was published in the Official Gazette.

According to the new methodological norms, the professional training of tourist guides is carried out through training programs of the type qualification, specialization, or improvement organized by authorized professional training providers, or through the evaluation and certification of professional skills, as well as within the national education system.
Professional specialization for the category of national tourist guide or specialized tourist guide is carried out only for persons who hold a tourist guide qualification certificate or a professional skills certificate for tourist guides.
According to the document, tourist guide certificates and badges have a validity of 5 years. These are updated before the expiration of the 5-year term from the date of issue or the last update. Otherwise, they lose their validity.
