The Government Approved the Rules for Applying Holiday Vouchers

On July 28, the Government approved the rules for applying holiday vouchers for employees in the private and public sectors.
Thus, employees in the public and private sectors will be able to receive holiday vouchers on paper or electronically, with a value that cannot exceed 6 gross minimum wages, and these can only be used in tourist units licensed by the National Authority for Tourism, ANT, according to a Government statement.
According to the application rules, the holiday voucher has a validity period of 1 year from the date of issuance both on paper and electronically, with the clarification that the validity period of the electronic support is not limited to 1 year. The form in which the vouchers will be received is established by the employer and the beneficiary.
Even if beneficiaries have the right to choose the tourism company, vouchers can only be used at affiliated ones that hold a tourism license or classification certificate issued by the National Authority for Tourism. To use the voucher, only an identity document is needed.
In the case of public sector employees, only vouchers will be granted, not cash or bonuses. In the case of private sector employees, it remains at the employer’s discretion whether to grant bonuses or holiday vouchers upon the employee’s departure on annual leave, depending on the amounts provided in the approved income and expenditure budgets. The granting of bonuses or holiday vouchers will be established by mutual agreement with the unions and must be mandatory mentioned in the collective labor contracts applicable at the unit level.
