The doorie startup, developer of an innovative platform in the hospitality field, secured 3rd place in the Dubai Tourism Futurism competition, attracting the interest of major hotel chains and investors in the region.
After 5 days in which the Cluj-based team presented their solution at the GITEX Future Stars event held between October 8-12 at the Dubai World Trade Center, they were invited on stage along with nine other startups for a pitch battle in front of a jury composed of representatives from renowned companies, including Emirates Airlines, Facebook, and the Jumeirah hotel chain.
“Our presence at the event represented a huge opportunity to make ourselves known in the Gulf region, and naming the doorie platform among the winners of the Futurism tourism competition offered us important recognition and, moreover, opened doors to the world’s major hotel chains,” says Anca D. Goron, the startup’s founder, “while also validating the solution as a valuable product, reflecting the hospitality vision of the future.”
The Dubai Futurism competition, launched in collaboration with Gitex Future Stars, brings together the best tech ideas and startups oriented towards the hospitality industry, aimed at bringing an innovative breath to existing IT solutions for travelers from every corner of the world. The event aims to discover impactful solutions for the future of the industry and contribute to the growth of the startup ecosystem in the emirate, in line with the Dubai 2020 vision of the Department of Tourism.
