The cleanest beach on the Romanian coast is in Costinesti

Over 24,000 waste items were found by representatives of the Mare Nostrum NGO on the beaches of the Romanian coast this autumn, with the dirtiest beach sector being in Constanta, and the cleanest in Costinesti, Corbu, and Mamaia Nord.
„Following the monitoring sessions, 24,101 waste items made of artificial polymer material, rubber, textile material, paper, cardboard, processed wood, glass, ceramics, and metal were identified. Their number was twice as high as the number of waste items recorded in April 2018,” states the Mare Nostrum press release.
The cleanest beach sector was in Costinesti, where just over 100 waste items were identified, with Mare Nostrum representatives specifying that few waste items were found here because the Costinesti beach is almost swallowed by the waters. In second and third place in this category are the beach sections in Corbu and Mamaia Nord, where the abundance of waste does not exceed 0.5 waste items/sqm.
