Stirbey Domain for Sale: Starting Price at €7.9 Million

The Stirbey Domain is once again up for sale through a public auction, with a starting price of €7.9 million, following several previous sale attempts.

The Stirbey Domain, located in the town of Buftea, includes the palace built on an area of over 2,100 sqm and nearly 240,000 sqm of land, along with a 2,000 sqm multifunctional hall. It entered insolvency in 2018 and subsequently went into bankruptcy in 2019.

Bucharest Arena, the company responsible for its management, acquired the domain in 2007 for €9 million.

Initially, the plan was to transform the palace into a 5-star hotel, featuring a museum dedicated to the Stirbey family. There were numerous business plans, with the priority being the repayment of debts exceeding 100 million RON to creditor banks, followed by organizing events in partnership with various agencies or renting out the palace apartments in a hotel regime; another project involved the development of an adventure park.

The Stirbey Palace is part of Romania’s cultural and historical heritage.
