Mohammad Murad to Transform Doftana Prison into a Conference Hotel
Businessman Mohammad Murad has won the auction organized by the Telega City Hall, in Prahova County, and is set to sign the concession contract for the former Doftana museum. He will then draft the projects under the expertise of professionals certified by the Ministry of Culture.
He will invest 25 million EUR in a new hotel complex with over 1,000 spots for accommodation and conferences. 10 million EUR represents the Ministry of Culture’s requirements, which will be used for a museum to be set up nearby.
Interventions on the main building, which has a surface area of 4,000 sqm and is in an advanced state of degradation, can only be carried out through legal regulations.
The land leased by the investor covers an area of 11 hectares.
Through this investment, jobs will be created, and the city hall will receive an annual royalty of 110,000 LEI.
The start of the works is expected in 2024.
