Local authorities in the town of Slanic Moldova have launched a donation campaign to purchase the mineral water springs in the resort from the private company that currently owns them. The total amount required for the acquisition, renovation, and licensing of the water sources amounts to 300,000 EUR.
Residents of Slanic Moldova can donate money directly at the City Hall cashier’s office or via bank transfer, but authorities have announced they want to set up collection points right near the springs in the resort.
The mineral springs were valued at the end of last year by the liquidator of the private company that owns them at 150,000 EUR. Three of them have already been purchased by the Slanic Moldova City Hall following a public auction for 79,000 RON, money that will be paid from the local budget after the legal contestation period expires.
Currently, the springs no longer have an exploitation license from the National Agency for Mineral Resources, as it expired in the spring of this year. At the same time, the springs must be accredited, in terms of medical properties, by the National Institute of Balneology.
