Sheraton Hotel Prepares to Launch Expansion Works

The Sheraton Hotel in the center of the capital will be expanded with a new building wing, featuring approximately 100 rooms, with the estimated investment being 30,000-50,000 EUR/room, stated Daniel Ben-Yehuda, General Manager of Sheraton Bucharest.
The hotel was part of the Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide hotel chain, one of the most important hospitality and leisure companies in the world. Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc was acquired in 2016 by Marriott International. 
For now, the works are in the demolition phase of some structures located on the site, while procedures for obtaining all necessary permits for the entire investment are being carried out in parallel.
The actual expansion works are estimated to begin around 2021 and be completed after approximately one year.
In present, the hotel has 270 rooms and suites. 
The Sheraton Hotel was opened in August 2015, in partnership with Grand Plaza Hotel, a company indirectly controlled by businessman Radu Dimofte, one of the largest property owners in Bucharest, who also owns the Ramada Parc and Ramada Plaza hotels.
