Accor, a global leader in hospitality, is expanding its presence in Romania by signing a new franchise agreement with Amazonia Aquapark SRL for Novotel Timisoara, a new hotel scheduled to open in late 2027.
Novotel Timisoara will become a true urban resort, combining business, relaxation and wellness experiences. The hotel will be located just a few steps away from the famous Amazonia Aquapark, the region’s leading aquatic destination, combining fun with Asian therapies and wellness treatments.
Romania continues to be a strategic market for Accor in Eastern Europe, with a current portfolio of 22 operational hotels totaling 2,397 rooms nationwide. Novotel Timișoara will be the Group’s third property in the city, following the opening of Mercure Timișoara in 2020 and ibis Timișoara in 2021.
The hotel will be located at 56 Avram Imbroane Street, just 8 minutes from the city center and less than 15 minutes from Timisoara International Airport and Timisoara North Railway Station. It will offer 152 rooms, including 15 junior suites, a duplex presidential suite and 20 family rooms with child-friendly facilities. Other facilities include two restaurants with outdoor terraces and a dedicated children’s area, a central bar, a fitness room and modular conference and event spaces totaling over 1,000 square meters including a 630 square meter multi-purpose room and a flexible foyer. There will also be outdoor parking.
Directly connected to Amazonia Aquapark, the hotel will mark two major firsts: the first Novotel Hypothesis in Europe and the first full-facility Novotel outside Bucharest. Designed on the principles of modularity, sustainability-through BREEAM certification-and immersive guest experiences, the hotel sets a new standard for hospitality in the region.
