Seaside Rates Increased by up to 25% Starting July 15

Starting July 15, rates charged in seaside hotel units have increased, ranging from 60 to 260 RON per person per day, depending on the resort, hotel classification, and the number of meals provided, stated the President of the National Authority for Tourism (ANT), Mirela Matichescu.
The ANT President stated that prices for all-inclusive in Mamaia will be 260 RON/person, while in Eforie and the southern coast – 200 RON. At a 4-star hotel in Mamaia, the price will be 170 RON/person/day, including breakfast; at 3 stars – 140 RON/person/day, with breakfast; at 2 stars – 100 RON.
In the southern part of the coast, at 4 stars, the rate will be 135 RON/day/person; at 3 stars – 110 RON/day/person, in both cases including breakfast; and 60 RON/day/person at 2 stars, without breakfast. These prices are sourced from travel agencies, Matichescu specified.
She noted that, compared to the previous period, prices are rising by up to 20% for the southern coast and by up to 25% for Mamaia.
The President of the Federation of Romanian Tourism Employers, Mohammad Murad, present at the press conference, argued however that it is not a 20 or 25% increase in rates, but rather the fact that until now tourists benefited from certain discounts for advance payment.
In turn, the President of the National Association of Travel Agencies in Romania, Aurelian Marin, maintained during the same press conference that, compared to last year, the number of tourists on the Romanian coast has increased by 3% in Mamaia and by 8% in the southern coast.
He specified that this is the fourth consecutive year that the Romanian seaside has recorded increases in the number of tourists, as well as in turnover, and that it can be compared with Bulgaria or Greece.
