After most seaside hoteliers increased rates by an average of 10% this summer compared to last year, accommodation prices will not rise next year.
The average stay on the Romanian seaside this summer, which included six days of accommodation with breakfast, cost 1,621 RON/room, according to a study of more than 100,000 tourists conducted by the LitoralulRomanesc.ro portal.
The most sought-after resorts were Mamaia, Eforie Nord, and Venus, while at the opposite pole were Costinesti, Neptun, and Eforie Sud.
The most sought-after hotels were, as in previous years, 2 and 3-star structures.
Romanians who purchased vacations in local Black Sea resorts through travel agencies stayed an average of 5.4 nights, while those who booked directly with the hotel had an average stay that was even 25-30% shorter.
This year, the average stay increased very slightly, almost insignificantly, by 2%, from 5.3 to 5.4 nights. In contrast, the average price of a stay for the entire seaside increased by approximately 14%, from 1,442 RON/room last year to 1,621 RON/room this summer.
The average price for an all-inclusive package was 2,197 RON/room/stay for Eforie Nord and 2,667 RON for the Mamaia resort. The number of all-inclusive spots has grown strongly year after year, reaching approximately 9,000 this season across the entire coast.
Of the total tourists who bought seaside stays through an agency, only 3% did so using holiday vouchers.
