Ryanair aims to become the largest airline in Romania by 2020

Low-cost airline Ryanair aims to become the largest airline in Romania by 2020. Currently, this title is held by Wizz Air, which transported 5.5 million passengers to and from Romania last year.
"We want to connect Bucharest with every capital in Europe, add more bases and add summer destinations for those who do not want to go to Constanta," said Kenny Jacobs, Ryanair’s marketing director.
Currently, Ryanair operates flights from Bucharest to seven European capitals: Athens, Berlin, Brussels, Dublin, London, Madrid and Rome.
In Romania, Ryanair has a market share of just over 10% and estimates it will transport 2.55 million passengers this year.
The Ryanair official also estimated that many European airlines will go bankrupt within five to ten years as oil prices rise.
