Romanians who spent Easter in the country spent over EUR 7 million

Nearly 110,000 Romanians spent the Easter holidays in hotels and guesthouses in Romania and spent over EUR 7 million on tourism services, according to data centralized by the Federation of Romanian Tourism Employers, FPTR.

The most sought-after destinations were Prahova Valley, the Bran-Moeciu area, Bucovina, and Maramures.
At the opposite end, the seaside attracted only 900 tourists, covering less than a third of the places made available by hoteliers.
Hotels and guesthouses in Romanian tourist areas offered 136,000 places for Easter, of which more than 108,000 were sold, representing an occupancy rate of 79%. At the same time, a slight increase in rates was noted, ranging between 2-5% compared to two years ago.
For domestic vacations alone, tourists spent more than RON 33 million, or over EUR 7 million, according to FPTR calculations.
Of the 75,000 places available in guesthouses, 65,000 were sold. In second place, after rural areas, are mountain resorts, with those in the Prahova Valley leading in attractiveness.
30,000 places were made available within structures in rural areas, of which 22,000 were sold.
In spa resorts, 28,000 places were made available, of which 20,000 were sold.
3,000 places were made available on the seaside, of which only 900 were sold.
In the Danube Delta, 600 places were made available, of which approximately 400 were sold.
For international travel, 7,500 places were available, of which 4,800 represents the approximate number of places sold for this year’s Easter holidays. The most sought-after international destinations for families were those on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast, followed by Greece or Tenerife.
