Romanians Can Travel Visa-Free to Canada Starting December 1

From December 1, Romanians can travel to Canada without visas for stays of up to 6 months for tourism purposes, based on any valid Romanian passport.
Persons intending to enter / transit Canada by air after December 1, 2017, must still obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) in advance.
Additionally, Romanian citizens who intend to pursue studies in Canada for more than 6 months or to work, regardless of the duration, must obtain a study or work permit in advance.
Since May, the procedure has been applied to certain Romanian citizens considered eligible. Thus, Romanian citizens who have held a Canadian visa in the last ten years or currently hold a valid visa allowing entry into the USA were considered eligible for eTA.
