The Great National Assembly Square became, for two days, the host of the Festival of Romanian Traditions, an event organized by the Department for Relations with the Republic of Moldova of the Romanian Government. Dozens of folk craftsmen from both sides of the Prut River presented their crafts in a true celebration of Romanian cultural identity.
The festival continued on Sunday, May 25, offering visitors the opportunity to participate in interactive workshops and discover authentic Romanian traditions. Craftsmen’s stalls offered a wide range of handmade items – from ceramics, wood and fabrics to icons and folk ornaments.
Costică Ciubotăriță, a folk craftsman from Botoșani, Romania, impressed the audience with his “Dacian” hats and popular music on the flute.
The festival brought together visitors from all over Romania and Moldova, giving them the opportunity to interact, exchange impressions and rediscover common roots.
