The Ministry of Economy, Entrepreneurship, and Tourism (MEAT) will be present, in 2024, at 16 national and international tourism fairs.
The first international tourism fair of 2024, where MEAT will be present with a national pavilion, is FITUR – Madrid, Spain, which will take place between January 24 and 28. This exhibition event is dedicated to tourism professionals, being the most important profile fair for Ibero-American markets.
At the same time, specifically between January 25-28, Romania will also be promoted at Les Thermalies in Paris, France, the event being specialized in spa treatments.
Subsequently, MEAT will participate in BIT Milan (February 5-6), Italy’s largest tourism fair, dedicated to both specialists and the general public, writes News.ro.
Also in the first half of the year, our destination will be promoted at the Tour & Travel Expo, an exhibition event organized between February 15-18 in Chișinău.
Later, MEAT will join its co-exhibitors, between March 14-17, at ITB Berlin, considered the most important profile event in the world.
Concurrently, Romania will bring the most interesting local offers and attractions to the forefront at Ferien Messe in Vienna, Austria (March 14-17), as well as at the Salon Mondial du Tourisme in Paris, France (March 14-17).
The approved list of fairs also includes IMTM in Tel Aviv, Israel (April 3-4), as well as IMEX Frankfurt, Germany (May 14-16).
A novelty for 2024 is the inclusion of two profile exhibition events outside of Europe. The first is KITF in Almaty, Kazakhstan (April 24-26), an international tourism fair where MEAT is participating for the first time and which, according to the consulted data, offers an extensive platform for the tourism industry throughout the Central Asian region.
Furthermore, for the purpose of increasing Romania’s visibility on the global market, a national pavilion will also be organized at ITB China, the event being held in Shanghai from May 24-27. Locally, MEAT will be present at the spring edition of the Romanian Tourism Fair (February 15-18). In the second half of the year, MEAT will continue Romania’s tourism promotion at TTG Experience in Rimini, Italy (October 9-11), recognized as the largest B2B fair in the Italian tourism industry.
With a view to strengthening tourism partnerships, MEAT will be present with a national pavilion at WTM London, UK, an event held from November 4-6, and also at IBTM Barcelona, Spain, the most important exhibition event in the MICE field, organized between November 19-21. The last tourism fair of 2024 is Tour and Travel in Warsaw, Poland (November 21-23), the event being dedicated to the general public.
Economic operators interested in joining MEAT at international tourism fairs can benefit, through a de minimis scheme approved by OMAT no. 330/20.01.2023, from the reimbursement of 50% of external transport expenses, but without exceeding the equivalent of 500 euros, and 50% of the expenses related to the first night of accommodation, in both cases for one representative/exhibitor.
Furthermore, the institution covers 100% of the expenses related to the participation fee, the rental of stand space from the organizers, as well as the personalization, arrangement, and decoration of the stand, within the limit of 3 sqm/exhibitor. At the same time, in accordance with Commission Regulation (EU) 2023/2831, the validity period of the mentioned de minimis scheme will be extended until 2030, and the value of the de minimis aid from which the enterprise has benefited in the last two fiscal years and in the current fiscal year will also be modified, namely from 200,000 to 300,000 euros. Registrations for fairs held in the first semester of the year can be made until January 15.
