Marriott International’s premium brand, Ritz-Carlton, will launch for the first time for a hotel operator three small ultra-luxury cruise ships, the first of which is set to become operational at the end of 2019.
The first ship will be launched at the end of 2019, and reservations can be made starting in May 2018.
Fredrik Johansson, owner and executive director of the Swedish company Tillberg Design, has designed numerous ships, such as Viking, Norwegian, Azamara, Costa, Cunard, but it is the first time he is creating design standards from scratch for the Ritz-Carlton project. To do this, Johansson drew inspiration from superyachts like Azzam, Eclipse, Nauta, and Maserati, rather than from his competitors.
The new ships will have a capacity of 298 passengers and 149 suites and will feature numerous options for dining, public spaces, and relaxation, both private and shared.
