Restart for the Laguna Residence Project

The Laguna Residence project restarted in the fall of 2014, being taken over by a group of Romanian construction entrepreneurs after works had been halted for a period of 3 years. The development of the complex began in 2007, before the crisis, but the Spanish company GEA International Development went into insolvency in 2012, leaving the works at the structure stage.
One of the most important investors in the Laguna Residence project is Radu Ionescu, a 53-year-old engineer who left the country 30 years ago and settled in Lausanne, Switzerland, in 1987, and who holds a 28% stake in the project. “From the first moment, I could imagine myself living and working here when I come to Bucharest for my activities as a technical expert in international arbitrations,” confessed Radu Ionescu.
The Laguna Residence complex is located on the shores of Lake Tei, in the office building area in the northern part of the capital (Barbu Vacarescu – Pipera). The first phase of the new project involves an investment of 12-13 million euros for the completion this summer of six blocks with 150 apartments. Their price will be between 1,100 and 1,400 euros/sqm, depending on positioning and surface area, while sizes will range between 98 square meters (the smallest two-room apartment) and 284 square meters (penthouses).
