Businessman Andrei Nedelcu, known for the development of some 400 apartments in central and semi-central areas of Bucharest, is expanding into the hospitality market. He is preparing two five-star hotels in Poiana Brasov and Predeal, both in the authorization stage.
The hotel in Poiana Brasov will have 30 rooms on a usable area of about 2,500 square meters, with spa facilities, swimming pool, fitness room, restaurant and conference room. The investment is estimated at EUR 6 million.
In Predeal, Nedelcu took over a company that had only built the structure of a 50-room hotel. The plan is to complete the facility, which will include a spa, basement swimming pool, restaurant and conference room, with the option of converting it into a home for the elderly. “We are trying to attract international partners to operate the hotels,” the entrepreneur said.
On the residential side, Andrei Nedelcu is developing EUR 25 million projects in “hot spots” of the capital. These include a new development on Gheorghe Țițeica Street, near Verdi Park, which will comprise 30 apartments (including 3 penthouses and 3 courtyard apartments), plus two commercial spaces of 80 and 320 square meters.
His portfolio, developed together with his father, Ion Niculae Nedelcu, and partners from UpBuild, already includes projects in areas such as Parcul Carol, Tineretului, Marriott, Dristor, Rosetti, Grădina Icoanei and Obor.
Andrei Nedelcu is thus betting on the luxury and premium segments, which dominate the growth of the hotel and residential market in Romania.
