RATB Reopens Tender for the Acquisition of Four Buses for the Bucharest City Tour Tourist Line

The Bucharest Autonomous Transport Authority (RATB) has resumed the tender for the acquisition of 4 double-decker buses to be used on the Bucharest City Tour tourist line. The contract is estimated at 3.91 million RON, excluding VAT.
Currently, the carrier uses buses rented from the Constanta Autonomous Transport Authority (RATC), for which it pays 645,000 RON, excluding VAT, for a 6-month period.
In September, RATB launched the first tender for the purchase of the buses, but it was canceled a month later because RATB received no bids.
Open only seasonally, between May 15 and October 15, the tourist line brought in over 1 million RON to RATB’s accounts last year from the sale of travel passes, 16% more than the 2014 receipts, with the monthly amount collected being 22,175 RON higher than in the previous season.
The average monthly income obtained during the same period from renting advertising space for this line was 7,861 RON/month higher than the monthly average recorded in 2014, according to a company report.
The profit obtained from operating this line was nearly 190,000 RON.
