Radisson to open a new hotel in Romania, in Brasov

The Rezidor Group, which has brands such as Radisson Blu or Park Inn by Radisson in its portfolio, intends to expand on the local market in cities with over 200,000 inhabitants, and the first on the list for expansion is Brasov.
„Romania is an important market for the Rezidor group, because we see that the country is developing increasingly close business ties with countries such as Austria and Germany. I believe the potential of provincial cities is growing, and I am referring to urban centers such as Brasov, Cluj-Napoca, Sibiu, Constanta, Timisoara, Craiova or Arad,” stated Arno Schwalie, area vice president for Central and Southern Europe within The Rezidor Hotel Group.
According to ZF data, the company Tresor Com, controlled by the Neamtu family from Brasov, is set to develop a 5-star hotel under the Radisson Blu brand across from the city hall, on Eroilor Boulevard, no. 23.
Company representatives did not comment on the information by press time.
Building a 5-star hotel requires an investment of 15-20 million EUR.
Currently, in Brasov there is only one unit classified at 5 stars, Aro Palace.
The Hilton Group is also looking to develop here and is searching for a space also in the heart of the city, near the Black Church.
